5 Simple Ways to Decorate Your Home Interior

9/15/2019

Spring is coming soon — the time of renewal, the time when we want to change something in our lives and in our surroundings. It is during this period that most of us long to bring something new into the interior of our own home.

Gloomy economic forecasts make you hold back from unnecessary spending? Do not rush to give up your plans. There are ways to freshen up your home interior without major expenses.

1. Painting.

A new coat of paint can instantly transform any room. You can easily do this work yourself — paint is still the cheapest material for updating an interior; besides, there is an endless number of incredible paint shades that seem to be just waiting to be used. You can paint not only the walls, floor and ceiling.

The appearance of furniture can also benefit greatly from this procedure. Try to stay one step ahead of fashion when choosing a shade: the worst that can happen is having to repaint a color you do not like.

2. Accessories.

Pull out the old dish you were given as a wedding present — it can well be used as a tray on the coffee table. Simple glass balls mixed with lemons or limes on a plate will make a stylish table decoration.

Take a few books off the shelves and place them under decorative plates or boxes on the coffee table — the added height will create the necessary harmony and balance. Change the photo frames, add new photos or pictures to the walls.

Sometimes existing items only need cosmetic repair. Add a little metallic paint to accent the edges of an old box or candlestick.

Drops of glue, beads or mirror squares placed on caskets, dishes or even pillows will give the room a glamorous look. Take inventory of your closets, attics and old chests. Look for long-unused things — perhaps, after some treatment, they will fit wonderfully into the interior of your home.

3. Lampshades.

Sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks. Add colorful ribbons, lace, bows or cords to the edges of a lampshade with a drop of hot glue. Follow the new fashion trends — decorate the lamp with beads or metallic threads.

4. Leopard Print.

When you are not sure which of the leopard patterns to choose, opt for a small print. Things with such a pattern are an essential attribute of a stylish home. These can be just a bedspread, napkins, a small pillow or a footstool. Local fabric stores will always be able to offer several options at low prices.

5. Easy Makeover.

Sometimes simply reupholstering the seats of dining chairs has a huge effect. Look for fresh colorful fabrics to liven up things that seem outdated. You can easily make new cushions for armchairs yourself if the old ones are worn out.

Tie-on decorative chair covers will also freshen up your home.

That is how easy and inexpensive it is to update the furnishings in your home. Take another good look at your closet — perhaps what you have been dreaming about for so long is already there?
